Tesla brake upgrades - needed or no?

Tesla CEO, Elon Musk, has claimed that the brake pads on Tesla's never need to be replaced. This may be true for some drivers, but many are looking for something more than the regenerative braking.  ...and this does not remove the need for regular brake maintenance including fluid flushing and general cleaning and lube of the components.

Performance Upgrades

For owners looking to get more out of their brakes, whether on track or on sporting roads, the Tesla's brakes leave much to be desired.  Regenerative braking adds some additional brake capacity but often after some sporting driving, the factory brakes can get quickly overwhelmed.

You can upgrade your Tesla with better  Brake Fluid and aggressive Brake Pads, but don't forget the rotors need to handle the heat as well.
