PRODUCT INFORMATION

Product Description

If you’re driving a 2022-25 Toyota Tundra and you’ve opted for a 3″ to 3.5″ rear lift, the ICON Vehicle Dynamics V.S. 2.0 Aluminum Series Rear Shock (Part No. 56517) is engineered expressly for that build. This rear shock offers a highly-refined technical upgrade that enhances ride quality, improves control under load, and elevates your truck’s overall suspension dynamics.

Technical Highlights & Benefits

  • Nitrogen-charged monotube design with an internal reservoir, providing improved damping consistency and thermal management compared with standard twin-tube shocks.

  • Vehicle-specific valving (V.S.) tuned for the 2022-25 Tundra’s rear suspension geometry and intended lift height (3-3.5″) so you get optimized performance rather than a generic fit.

  • High-quality materials: 5/8″ chrome-plated hardened steel shaft; 6061/6063 aircraft-grade aluminum body/cylinder for excellent heat dissipation and corrosion resistance; polyurethane bushings and forged steel mounting stems for OE-style fitment.

  • Fully rebuildable and re-valveable design, meaning you’re buying a performance shock built to last and maintain rather than a disposable part.

  • Fitment for lifted applications: Compatible with approximately 3″-3.5″ of rear lift on coil-spring equipped Tundras (non-AVS / non-load-leveling suspension).

Why You Should Buy It

  • Enhanced ride comfort and stability: When you raise the rear of your Tundra by 3″-3.5″, the factory shocks are pushed beyond their designed travel and damping envelope. This ICON shock is calibrated for that exact lift height, so you’ll get better compliance, less harsh rebound/bump behavior, and more composed handling whether loaded, towing or driving off-road.

  • Better control under load or during aggressive driving: The internal-reservoir monotube design keeps the shock working consistently even when heated or compressed repeatedly—reducing fade, maintaining optimum damping and keeping the rear axle more controlled.

  • Fitment certainty + optimized geometry: Because it’s valved specifically for your lifted Tundra’s geometry rather than a one-size-fits-all solution, you’ll avoid many of the compromises common in generic shock replacements.

  • Durability & long-term value: With premium materials and rebuildable service options, you’re investing in an upgrade built to last—especially important for trucks that are used for hauling, off-road or heavy-duty tasks.

  • Optimized for your lift setup: If you’ve already raised your rear 3″-3.5″ or are planning that height, this shock lets you match your suspension performance rather than lag behind the factory hardware.

Ideal Use Cases

  • You own a 2022-25 Toyota Tundra and have or are planning a 3″-3.5″ rear lift using coil springs.

  • You carry gear, trailer, or go off-road and want a rear suspension that can handle the lifting and duty demands without sacrificing ride or control.

  • You want to upgrade your truck’s rear suspension from stock-level to performance-oriented with proven engineering rather than going with basic lift-shocks.

  • You value build quality, materials, tune specificity and serviceability over purely aesthetic or height-only upgrades.

Installation & Considerations

  • This part is sold individually — you’ll need two (one for each rear shock) for a full rear axle installation.

  • It is not compatible with Tundras equipped with the factory Load-Leveling Rear Height Control Air Suspension or Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) systems.

  • Installation will require standard rear shock replacement procedure: proper jack/stands, removal of factory units, installation of the ICON shock with correct torque specs, and post-install alignment or ride height check to ensure the lift geometry is within spec.

  • Because the shock is engineered for ~3-3.5″ lift, using it outside that range (much lower or higher) may result in sub-optimal behavior: e.g., if lift is far greater, you might exceed the travel or the valving may not be ideal; if lift is minimal, the tune might feel too firm.

  • After installation, re-check vehicle ride height, axle droop/travel, clearance with tires/wheels/fenders, and observe the rear behavior (squat, rear-end stability under load) to confirm the upgrade’s effect.

Upgrade your Tundra’s rear suspension with the ICON 56517 and gain significant improvements in ride refinement, axle control, and capability—especially when your build calls for 3″–3.5″ of lift and you demand more than stock performance.
