Q: How do I know which Alcon replacement I need?
A: Find your StopTech part number (usually stamped on pads, rotors, or packaging). Use our Replacement Finder Table; we cross-reference by those StopTech PNs, rotor size, pad shape, and vehicle fitment. If in doubt, send photos of your caliper and rotor; we’ll help make sure it’s a match.

Q: Will Alcon parts fit on my existing StopTech hats/rotors/brackets?
A: Sometimes yes. For example, rotor rings and hats (if unused and matched) can be reused if sizes match. But many replacements (especially full kits) will require matching rotors, pads, or extra brackets. We note in our replacement table whether reuse is possible and what modifications—if any—are needed.

Q: Is there a difference in pad performance / feel vs StopTech?
A: Yes—and generally in Alcon’s favor. You may feel firmer initial bite, better fade resistance, and more consistent braking under high load. Brake feel is also influenced by pad compound, rotor design, and how well the brakes are bedded in. If you prefer lower dust or quieter operation, we offer pad compounds to match those preferences.

Q: What about part-and-service support? If something breaks, can I get spare parts?
A: Absolutely. We maintain inventory of pads, seals, hats, hardware, rotor rings. Our goal is to let customers repair what they have, not force full kit replacements.

Q: How long will this program last? Is this just a temporary fix until someone else takes over StopTech lines?
A: While we can’t predict what other brands will do, our commitment is long-term. We see this as a strategic gap in the market. Alconkits intends to build our parts lines, support network, and service reliability to fill that gap for the foreseeable future. We’re expanding inventory specifically for StopTech fitments.

• Supply constraints: While we aim for stock stability, manufacturing lead times and raw materials (e.g., friction materials) can get tight.

Tips to Get the Most out of Your Upgrade

1. Match the pad compound to your use case: Street? Go for quieter, lower-dust options. Track / occasional track? Choose more aggressive compounds.

2. Bedding in new pads & rotors properly: Follow a break-in procedure (gentle to moderate braking cycles) to avoid glazing and maximize life.

3. Check heat & cooling: Proper rotor ducting, vented hats, monitoring rotor temps will extend component life.

4. Maintain spare parts: Keep seal kits, pad sets, and frequently used hardware in stock so you're not over weeks without supply.

5. Document fitment photos / technical data: Snap pics of your existing setup; measure rotor diameters, hat off-sets. Helps avoid mistakes when ordering.
