Team WRT Clinches GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup Title in the BMW M4 GT3 EVO

At the 2026 GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup finale in Barcelona, Team WRT wrapped up the Teams' championship with a pair of hard-fought race comebacks in their BMW M4 GT3 EVOs. The cars are built on the same G82 platform as the road-going M4, and the team's performance across the weekend was complete enough to also take home the Pitstop Challenge award for best pit crew in the series. That last detail is not a footnote. In GT3 competition, the pit box is where championships are made or lost, and flawless brake pad and rotor swaps under pressure are the difference between gaining ground and surrendering the lead.

The GT3 EVO version of the M4 pushes its carbon-ceramic and steel brake packages to sustained extremes that no road course driver will ever replicate in a single session. But the G82 underneath it is the same car you can drive to the grid. That matters if you own one.

What the G82 M4 Deserves on the Street and Track

The factory M4 arrives with serious hardware, but it was engineered to a compromise between everyday comfort and performance. If you use your G82 on a circuit, drag it to an autocross, or just want the visual and mechanical authority that a championship-winning platform inspires, the OEM setup leaves room on the table.

The Paragon Competition Front Big Brake Kit for the BMW M3 (G80) / M4 (G82/G83) is the serious upgrade for the platform. The kit is built around a 6-piston caliper, bringing the kind of clamping force and modulation that lets you trail-brake with confidence instead of guessing where the fade begins. It is a complete front kit, so everything you need for the conversion arrives together.

For those who want to go further on the rotor side, Paragon also offers a 380mm x 36mm two-piece floating front rotor (14.96 inches in diameter, 1.42 inches thick) and a 370mm x 24mm rear rotor purpose-built for the G80/G82/G83 platform. Two-piece floating construction keeps the rotor face cooler under sustained load and reduces the unsprung weight penalty you take when you step up in diameter.

The bottom line is that Team WRT just proved at Barcelona what the G82 platform can do at the absolute top level of GT racing. The road car shares its bones with that championship winner. The brakes are the one area where the production version still has a meaningful gap to close.
