Bridgestone GR86 Championship NZ Locks In Five-Round 2026-27 Calendar

GAZOO Racing New Zealand has confirmed the full 2026-27 Bridgestone GR86 Championship calendar, locking in five points-paying rounds at some of the country's best circuits. Taupo International Motorsport Park, Hampton Downs, Teretonga Park, and Highlands Motorsport Park are all on the card, with a non-championship appearance at a Supercars support weekend rounding out the slate.
The GR86 Championship is one of those rare one-make series where the driving and the setup are everything. Every car runs the same platform, so the advantage goes to whoever extracts the most from it round after round. Five track weekends generate the kind of cumulative brake punishment that separates a standard setup from a properly sorted one: temperatures stack up lap after lap, fade becomes a real factor, and consistent pedal feel under pressure is the difference between confidence at the braking zone and a moment of hesitation you can't afford.
For GR86 owners on this side of the competition fence, the same logic applies every time you load the car on a trailer. That's exactly where the Paragon x Alcon Toyota 86 / GR86 / Scion FR-S Competition Front Big Brake Kit comes in.
Six Pistons Up Front. Built for the Track, Not the Street.
This kit centers on a 6-piston Alcon monoblock caliper paired with a purpose-sized rotor designed specifically for the ZN6/ZN8 platform's knuckle geometry. Six pistons means more even pad contact across the full rotor face, better modulation under trail braking, and the structural rigidity to manage sustained heat without the caliper flex that plagues lesser hardware. The package is engineered as a complete, bolt-on solution with bracket, rotor, and caliper included, so you're not piecing together compatibility on a spreadsheet before your first session.
Visually, it fills the stock wheel opening in a way that absolutely makes an impression. If you've run the OEM setup on a track day, you already know the factory hardware looks undersized behind a set of decent wheels. The Paragon-Alcon kit changes that conversation entirely.
Why a One-Make Series Puts Brakes Front and Center
A one-make championship like the Bridgestone GR86 series is a pressure test for every component on the car. When the engine, aero, and suspension are all equalized, how hard you can brake, how late you can brake, and how repeatable that braking is from lap one to lap thirty directly determines lap time. That's not an argument for stock hardware. That's an argument for the best hardware your platform can accept.
