Chevrolet Clinches Back-to-Back IMSA GTD Pro Title at Petit Le Mans

Chevrolet locked up its second consecutive IMSA GTD PRO Manufacturer Championship at the 2026 Motul Petit Le Mans, the 10-hour endurance finale held October 3-4 at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta. It is the 16th GT-class manufacturers title in Corvette Racing history, a record that dates to the program's launch in 1999. The machine behind it all this season was the Corvette Z06 GT3.R, run across factory and customer entries throughout the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship calendar.

Road Atlanta puts brakes through some of the most punishing cycles in North American road racing. The long back straight feeds into a series of hard stops, and the elevation change at the carousel means weight transfer is never predictable. Ten hours of that, across a championship season that stretched coast to coast, is a real-world durability test that no bench spec can replicate. The Z06 GT3.R's braking system simply had to survive it repeatedly.

If you run a C7 Corvette Z06 or Grand Sport, your stock rotors share the same basic job description. The Chevrolet Corvette Z06 / Grand Sport Performance 2-Piece Front Rotors from Paragon are a direct, meaningful upgrade for the platform.

These are proper 2-piece floating rotors: a 371mm x 34mm iron friction ring (14.61 x 1.34 inches) mated to a separate aluminum hat. That two-piece construction does two things at once. First, it sheds significant unsprung weight compared to a solid cast rotor — less rotational mass means quicker response and less stress on the suspension. Second, the floating design allows the ring to expand thermally without warping, which is how you keep a straight, consistent pedal feel when the temps climb. At $1,050 for the front pair, this is a purpose-built rotor upgrade for a car that was engineered to be driven hard.

They also look exactly right. A large 2-piece rotor with a machined aluminum hat visible behind the spoke of a wheel tells you something about the car before it even moves. On a Z06, that language is already fluent — this just turns the volume up.
