Jenson O'Neill-Going Takes TCR UK Race 2 Win at Oulton Park in a Honda Civic Type R FL5

Jenson O'Neill-Going won the second TCR UK race of the Oulton Park weekend aboard his Power Maxed Racing Honda Civic Type R FL5 TCR, banking a championship-points haul that stretches his lead at the top of the 2026 TCR UK Drivers' standings. The race itself was red-flagged after fellow FL5 driver Harry Bloor went off dramatically at the final corner — a reported brake issue launched him into the barriers, though he walked away unhurt. After a restart, O'Neill-Going did what championship leaders do: kept his head and took the win.

Bloor's incident is one of those unavoidable circuit-racing reminders of what brakes are actually contending with. Oulton Park is a circuit that punishes overheated rotors hard — it flows fast, the straights are short, and the braking zones are sharp. Repeated heavy stops with no recovery laps in between, lap after lap, expose the limits of any brake system. The FL5 Civic Type R comes with capable hardware from the factory, but there's a gap between capable and genuinely track-ready.

If this weekend's racing has you thinking harder about what's happening under your front wheels mid-corner, the upgrade that addresses the core problem is the Paragon Honda Civic Type R FK8/FL5 Performance 2-Piece Front Rotors — a 350mm x 32mm pair built specifically for this platform.

At 350mm x 32mm (13.78" x 1.26"), these rotors bring meaningfully more swept area and thermal mass than the OEM front setup. More swept area means the pads have more surface to work across; more thermal mass means the rotor absorbs and dissipates heat before it can build up into fade territory. On a road course, that margin is the difference between a confident pedal on the last lap and one that's gone soft and vague.

The 2-piece floating construction is where these rotors earn their track credentials. The rotor ring and aluminum hat are separate components joined by drive bobbins, which allows the ring to expand thermally without pushing stress into the hat or introducing the kind of rotor distortion that causes pedal pulsation. It's how purpose-built race rotors work, and it's the same principle here. When things cool back down, the rotor returns to true — no warping, no complaints.

These are also genuinely good-looking pieces. The two-tone ring-and-hat construction behind an open wheel is the visual calling card of a car that has been taken seriously. It reads as upgraded before anyone starts asking about your lap times.
