Lexus RC F GT3 Closes Its IMSA Chapter at Petit Le Mans

The Vasser Sullivan No. 14 Lexus RC F GT3 crossed the line at Road Atlanta with a 10th-place GTD PRO finish in the 10-hour Petit Le Mans — and with it, closed the book on one of IMSA's more decorated GT3 programs. As reported by the Lexus USA Newsroom, this was the RC F GT3's final IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship appearance. The team wrapped the 2026 season with three wins, four podiums, and three pole positions — not a bad way to go out.

Ten hours at Road Atlanta is about as brutal a brake test as motorsport offers. The circuit's blind, off-camber Turn 1 demands a hard, confident initial bite every single lap. By hour eight, every compound and rotor surface that isn't purpose-built for heat management starts making itself known — usually in the form of a longer stopping distance and a prayer. The GT3 platform runs massive fixed-mount monoblock calipers and large-diameter rotors specifically because the thermal demands at that pace, for that duration, leave absolutely no margin for fade.

The RC F that raced at Petit Le Mans shares a fundamental platform with the road-going RC F and GS F — and the street car's big Brembo front brakes are well-matched to an equally serious pad compound. EBC's Redstuff front pads for the RC F (PN DP31867C) bring that same philosophy to the road: a ceramic-enhanced compound that generates less dust than a race-spec pad while still taking serious heat in stride, with a progressive, linear pedal feel that lets you trail-brake without getting surprised.

These aren't a race pad wearing a street-pad label. Redstuff is genuinely engineered for the street-to-track spectrum — it beds in cleanly on a normal commute, and it doesn't eat rotors the way a full race compound does at lower temperatures. For an RC F or GS F used on canyon roads or the occasional track day, that balance is exactly right.

  • EBC Redstuff ceramic-enhanced compound
  • Fitment: Lexus RC F, GS F
  • Low dust, street-friendly bedding, progressive pedal feel
  • Front axle application — pair with rear Redstuff DP32261C for a full set

The RC F GT3 won't be back at Road Atlanta under IMSA rules. But the platform it's built on isn't going anywhere, and neither is the case for running proper brakes on it.
