PRODUCT INFORMATION

The Pro-System Shelby GT350R turnkey package brings Alcon caliper hardware and Pro-System brake preparation to a demanding performance application. BRK.200643 identifies the anodized configuration. The value of the package lies in treating the brakes as a complete mechanical assembly, with the friction components, caliper mounting and rotor interfaces considered together.

Alcon / Pro-System Shelby GT350R Turnkey Brake Package

A high-grip car places repeated demands on its brakes: the friction system must absorb the energy of each stop, release heat between braking zones and hold the pads consistently as temperatures change. Pro-System’s approach combines its rotor manufacturing and preparation with Alcon brake hardware and application-specific mounting components.

Features

  • Shelby GT350R turnkey application
  • Anodized caliper configuration
  • Alcon brake hardware with Pro-System package preparation
  • Vendor part number: BRK.200643
  • Application-specific rotor hats and caliper mounting interfaces
  • Serviceable friction components and separately identified mounting hardware

Alcon Calipers

The caliper’s job extends beyond applying clamping force. It must support the pads and maintain their relationship to the disc while hydraulic pressure, temperature and wheel loads change. Caliper mounting and the correct friction material are therefore part of the brake-system specification. This listing identifies the anodized GT350R package; replacement calipers and pad shapes should be matched to BRK.200643.

Floating Two-Piece Rotors

Pro-System’s two-piece floating rotor design separates the iron friction ring from the aluminum mounting hat. Under repeated hard braking, the ring heats and expands much faster than the hub area. The floating attachment accommodates that growth instead of forcing the friction ring and hat to behave as a single rigid casting. It also provides a serviceable assembly: a worn ring can be replaced while a sound hat is retained.

Ventilation and Friction Surface

Braking converts the car’s kinetic energy into heat. The rotor must absorb that energy during the stop and release it between braking zones. Pro-System’s ventilated, slotted iron rotors combine internal cooling passages with a machined friction face. The vanes move air through the disc, while the slots help keep the pad contact surface clear. Rotor diameter, thickness, pad selection and cooling airflow all contribute to the system’s operating temperature.

Pro-System Rotor Preparation

Pro-System machines its iron rotors in Mooresville, North Carolina, using a specially formulated grey cast iron chosen for thermal stability and friction performance. Dyno bedding prepares the rotor friction surfaces under controlled conditions before installation. This preparation is part of the Pro-System approach to building a brake package, alongside precision-machined hats, dedicated brackets and floating rotor hardware. Pad inclusion and compound remain specific to the ordered kit.

Hats, Brackets and Serviceability

The rotor hat connects the friction ring to the hub; the caliper bracket locates the caliper relative to that ring. Their dimensions are application-specific, even when two kits use the same caliper family or rotor diameter. Keeping the correct combination matters for alignment, pad contact and clearance. Order replacement rings, hats, brackets and mounting hardware against the complete kit part number. Rotor bobbin components are supplied as complete hardware kits.

Friction Material and Operating Temperature

Pad selection should reflect how the car is used, including its tires, cooling provisions and session length. A compound’s cold response, working-temperature range and wear behavior influence both road manners and track performance. Match the front and rear friction choices to the complete brake setup rather than selecting solely on a compound name.

Vehicle and Wheel Fitment

Confirm the exact GT350R vehicle, hub and wheel specification before ordering. Wheel barrel shape and spoke clearance matter as well as diameter. Parking-brake provisions and the detailed package contents must also be matched to the specific installation.

Replacement Parts

For replacement rotor rings, pads, calipers or mounting hardware, contact Alconkits with kit BRK.200643 and the axle being serviced. We will match the replacement to your exact configuration.

Alcon Big Brake Kit common questions

Alconkits - the primary Alcon distributor

Why should you buy direct from AlconKits.com?

General retailers and marketplaces list Alcon brake kits, but they typically cannot advise on fitment, wheel clearance, pad compounds, or long-term service parts. You can buy Alcon Brakes from lots of places - but you SHOULD buy them from Alconkits.com. Alconkits.com is a specialist distributor focused exclusively on Alcon systems.

What support do I get when buying from Alconkits.com?

You get brake experts live every time. We answer the phone with 25 years of Alcon Brakes support. Our experts will help you choose the right kit, with the right fit, guaranteed. Plus, when you need replacement parts and service knowledge, you will only get that from Alconkits.com - not someone who just sells general automotive parts.

What happens if I need pads, rotors, or service parts later?

This is an excellent question to ask. We stock replacement parts for everything we sell - and maintain a full cross-reference catalog for all compatible parts. When you buy from Alconkits.com an authorized primary distributor of Alcon Brakes you will get a lifetime of advice and support that other vendors cannot match.

Is Alconkits.com an authorized Alcon distributor?

Yes. You can find authorized dealers on the manufacturers website - and we are seen as one of the largest most knowledgeable dealers in the world, and certainly in the United States.

What are the main reasons people choose Alconkits?
  1. Factory-engineered systems designed for brake performance and durability require expert advice
  2. Lifetime technical support included when purchased from Alconkits.com.
  3. Support beyond just sale, we help you select pads, ensure fitment, and service your brakes.

In short, you want an expert driven purchase decision, from a vendor that provides value beyond the product, with service, support, and expertise. That is the Alconkits.com promise delivered every day.

Installation

What tools do I need to install?

Our brake kits require common hand tools for installation. You will need a torque wrench, brake fluid (2 pints), and loctite.

What if I run into issues while installing?

We pride ourself in expert advice. You can call or text us at 630-360-2548 for expert technical and installation advice.

Are any other modifications required?

For OEM installations where wider rotors are fitted, you should expect to remove or trim the rotor dust/heat shield. This often interferes with larger rotors but is no longer needed due to our upgraded components.

Will I need a new Master Cylinder

No. All of our brake kits are designed specifically to work with the hydraulic ratio of your stock master cylinder

Do I need wheel spacers

We provide a fitment template for you to check clearance in advance. In some cases a small spacer may be required and we provide those when we are sure they are needed.

Are brake pads included?

Yes. We include the appropriate brake pads for all our brake kits. In some cases we offer multiple compounds for you to customize your experience. We stock a wide variety of pads for Alcon Brake kits here.

Break In questions

Do I need to brake in new rotors/pads?

Yes! We highly recommend following our brake pad/rotor bed in process. This ensures that an even layer of pad material is deposited on the rotor to eliminate shudder, increase rotor life, and to heat temper the new rotors for longer life.

What about noise and dust?

Noise and dust are related to the brake pad compound. Higher temp pads have more metallic composition and will therefore increase potential noise and dust the more aggressive the pad. For squealing issues we recommended loosening the caliper and re tightening it. This will sometimes change the caliper "frequency". Additionally "sticky shims" or our titanium pad shims will reduce noise.

Operational Questions

Is this compatible with my ABS?

Yes! We test our brakes to ensure they are fully compatible with your stock ABS on all models we release.

How long do they last?

Lifetime of components is massively variable based on how they are used. High dust/dirt/salt environments will wear seals out more quickly. Heavy Duty or Track use will also affect rotor and pad life.

What is the warranty?

We support the manufacturers 12 month/12000 mile warranty against factory defects and material issues. You can find more details here.
